Soldier Come, Soldier Go

I am scratching my head at Obama's simultaneously managing (and amplifying) two wars while receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.

I haven't checked the full text of the speech (my weekend homework) but am excited to see a critical response in the media. I was excited on many levels to turn on WNYC today and listen to interviews with Kevin Mambo (Fela lead in the FELA Broadway show) and a head of Amnesty International talking about Fela's message, his critiques of state power, and how his music and message are resonating more today than ever.

Here are some starting points. Draw your own conclusions:
